Celebrating 300 Years of Witness and Mission:
1707 - 2007
Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Christ Episcopal
Church Web site. We encourage you to get to know our church family by
exploring the site, and we hope that you will visit us soon!
Our mission statement…
To be a spiritual home where we celebrate the
belovedness of every person and the sanctity of all creation. We, as
the body of Christ, pray for the grace to love and serve the Lord by
welcoming children, comforting the sick, offering aid and hope to the
friendless, the poor and the needy, and by confronting injustice.
We get our strength and guidance from the words of the Holy Scripture,
the teachings of the Church, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in
our lives.
We are here...
Because God in Jesus the Christ draws us, to
celebrate, pray, and embody his life and spirit of compassion and joy
in the world.
Because
as a community of Christians, we have grown as humans and experienced
what the living body of Christ means in a world full of isolation,
loneliness and the confusing voices around us.
For us and our children and our children’s children,
so they will have a spiritual community that mirrors Christ love in and
to the world.
To break down the walls that separates us for our
deepest inner life, between one another and between tribes and nations.
To act with the power of Christ’s love to change the
institutions, which oppress and diminish our full humanity. And as we
work toward the vision of the reign of God we work with our brothers
and sisters in the faith community in the region.
